We kick off the PICL season with an adventure ride joined by other PA MTB teams for a day of fun on the dirt. Along the way, riders will take part in friendly bike games — scavenger hunts, word puzzles, trivia — all woven into the ride itself. This event runs a little differently than our usual Saturday schedule because PICL assigns specific push‑off times, and it will last a bit longer than a typical practice thanks to the extra stops for game challenges. Don’t miss out, it will be a blast!

GVMTB Specific Information
9:15 - Arrival - Plan to Arrive at Cadence cycling in Manayunk. The commute should be easy this early in the morning on a Saturday, so expect 25-35 minutes drive time. The parking lot is large and there is no fee to use it. Look for our team jerseys when you get there to assemble and start getting warmed up.
9:30 - Assemble - Team Meeting, Bike Checks, Bag Checks, Group Splits
9:40 - Roll Out - See below for the 2 routes that PICL has mapped out and the GVMTB ride groups that will be using them. Both will be very fun, are rideable by all GVMTB groups and have an even mix of climbing and descending (100ft climb/mi and below)
Spicy Route (BR and FS Groups)
Mild Route (GP, MD and HB Groups)
~ 1:15p - Return to Lot - we are estimated to return to the Cadence cycling parking lot by this time. This is a longer than normal ride time because it may be a bit slower on the trails given how many teams/riders will be there plus we will stop frequently to participate in the PICL provided game.
MTB Ride and Games - In addition to a great MTB ride, our team will be participating in the PICL produced bike games while out on the trail. The specific games and instructions will be provided before we roll out. This is a 1-day event, so there are no additional planned team activities after the adventure ride.
Hiking for Families - If you are dropping off your rider and looking for something to do, Wissahickon has excellent walking and hiking paths to enjoy. The parking lot is on the south side of the park by Lincoln drive. See some hiking suggestions @ ALL TRAILS WISSAHICKON
