Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

Loaner bikes are available to both Prospective and Current GVMTB Riders/Coaches who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Do not currently have access to a personal bike

  • Have a bike that is not suitable for mountain biking and would like to try an appropriate MTB

  • Have purchased a new bike but have not yet received it

  • Have a functional bike that is temporarily unavailable (e.g., damage, required maintenance, or service)

Terms & Conditions

  • Loaner Request Form: Must be submitted at least 48 hours before the date the bike is needed.

  • Availability: Loaner bikes are not guaranteed. Availability depends on the current fleet, but team leadership will make every effort to find a suitable option for your rider.

  • Transportation: Once a loaner bike is issued, the rider and/or supervising adult is responsible for transporting the bike to and from all GVMTB events.

  • Approved Use: Loaner bikes are intended only for GVMTB team events, practices, and races. Any damage that occurs outside of GVMTB activities must be repaired and/or paid for by the rider’s family.

  • Fees:

    • No fee for loaner agreements lasting less than 1 month

    • $150 maintenance fee for loaner agreements lasting longer than 1 month This fee helps offset routine wear‑and‑tear costs (tires, chains, grips, sealant, pedals, cabling, drivetrain components, tune‑ups, etc.)

  • Payment: Payment arrangements will be made only after a loaner bike has been secured and the family confirms they wish to proceed.

  • Return of Equipment: Loaner bikes must be returned within 60 days of the agreement’s expiration to allow the team adequate time to service the bike before the next season.

Make a Request

GVMTB has a small fleet of mountain bikes for use by riders needing access to a mountain bike for both short periods of time or longer periods of time up to a full season duration.

How to measure for a bike

Height

measure while standing on a flat surface with your back against a wall. Feet should be spaced slightly less than shoulder width apart.

Inseam

Stand with your back against a wall and spread your feet 6-8" apart.

  • Place a book between your legs and up against the wall, spine up; raise it until snug against your crotch (this mimics your bike seat).

  • Have another person measure from the top of the book (spine) down to the floor.
