PICL Race 5 - Flowin’ at Fair Hill (State Championships)

The final PICL race of the season at well known location for GVMTB that is also pretty close to home. This is a state-wide event where GVMTB will race against all teams within the state, so the event will be broken into two days: 1 for Middle school and 1 for high school riders. Pre-Ride Arrival and Ride Time:

You definitely want to pre-ride the course so you are not surprised by what you encounter. Pre-riding is a critical aspect of racing and planning your strategy for the day.

Coaches will communicate about exact pre-ride roll out times the day of the race. Coaches should be available to give all riders a pre-ride but we try to ride as a group. Be sure to let us know when you are arriving!

  • Middle School pre-ride is Saturday morning from 8am - 9:30am. THERE IS NO FRIDAY PRE-RIDE.

  • High School pre-ride is Saturday from 2:30pm - 4pm and Sunday from 8am -8:30am.

Race Arrival and Ride Time:

Middle School races Saturday. High School races Sunday.

Since Fair Hill is within 1 hour of our home territory, most GVMTB families drive the same day of the race. Therefore, the team will not be planning any post-race activities or dining events within the area. If you do want to plan something, just post a message in the TeamSnap chat.

No travel arrangements necessary-Since Fair Hill is within 1 hour of our home territory, most GVMTB families drive the same day of the race, so lodging is not required. If you do opt to stay night before your race, the closest town is Newark Delaware. Camping is also conveniently available on the grounds, so check out the the PICL event page for their
